THE MISSION
How it all began
For solo vocalists Kamilah Mahasin Shuaibe and Denise Saidah Cotton, 2015 marked the beginning of a partnership and founding of The Love Project. Both Kamilah and Denise felt they had reached a higher point in their personal evolution as artists. The time came to transcend the individualism and embark on the ultimate collaboration. Rather than focusing goals on music explicitly, they endeavor to do this organizationally. With excitement and zeal, they announced the founding of a platform intended to inspire community building by mobilizing creative women. The Love Project aims to encourage and cultivate self discovery, create space where skills and resources are shared, foster sisterhood and camaraderie, celebrate the work of all and break barriers in the process.
Service to Humanity
Our goal is to inspire women to create a “Love Project.” A Love Project is when natural talents and passions are used in service of the Creator. Upcoming Love Project iniatives include a homeless iniative program in collaboration with Airbnb as well as support to victims of sex trafficing raised from various performances throughout the year.
Love Project Women’s Conference
The purpose of the Love Project Conference is to provide Islamic Education facilitated by Women scholars, and to embrace the feminine role as defined by Allah in The Holy Quran. To be a platform to motivate and inspire Muslim women to identify their potential and their calling for service to their community and to humanity. The conference will provide a space to network, have fun, and be rejuvenated to work in the service of Allah.
